Minister of Environment and Climate Change
In August 2024 he was appointed as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
AbdulAziz Ahmad Al-Mahmoud started his career in 2007 with the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), where he worked in various fields such as electricity transmission network planning, system operations and control, and long-term power generation and water desalination planning, as well as business development and R&D.
He was seconded to the National Planning Council (previously the Planning and Statistics Authority) in September 2022 to be the project manager of the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3).
He received his B.Sc. from Qatar University in Electrical Engineering and his M.Sc. in Electrical Energy Systems from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
His interests include sustainability, renewable energy and storage, strategic planning, and public policy.
