During a visit by the ministry delegation to the company’s laboratories, a collaborative effort was established between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Exxon Mobil

A team from the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change visited the Research and Studies Center of Exxon Mobil at the Oasis of Science and Technology. The team was briefed on the laboratories and analysis facilities dedicated to environmental studies within the company. Present during the visit from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change were Engineer Hassan Al Qasimi, Director of the Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department, along with several specialists from the Ministry’s Environmental Laboratory Department. They were received by Dr. Ismail Al Sheikh, Technical Research Supervisor at Exxon Mobil Research Center.

The two parties agreed to establish a joint program for training and technical support for the Ministry’s employees in the field of analysis and monitoring during the current year. They emphasized that this collaboration falls within the framework of supporting the ministry’s efforts to preserve the environment and biodiversity in the state of Qatar. Additionally, it aims to leverage the efforts and research of both parties to support scientific research aimed at conserving the Qatari environment.

The two parties also clarified that the collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and Exxon Mobil will experience further development in the upcoming period. This is due to the mutual desire between both parties to enhance their cooperation in the context of supporting scientific research and exchanging ideas regarding the evolving environmental situation in the state of Qatar. They highlighted the significance of preserving aquatic and terrestrial life in all the state’s protected areas. They indicated that the collaboration will involve exploring the potential and research capabilities of both sides to formulate a joint plan for the upcoming period.

The delegation from the Ministry of Environment highlighted the ministry’s inclination towards intensifying collaborative efforts with all relevant state institutions and national companies in the field of environment and the preservation of its ecosystems. This is aimed at mutual benefit and the development of a unified vision to work on the development and preservation of Qatar’s environment against all challenges. It also involves exchanging constructive ideas and staying informed about the latest research progress from all parties. Furthermore, they aim to leverage the advanced technologies available in the laboratories of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and its scientific research in the same field. They expressed gratitude and appreciation to Exxon Mobil for their cooperation with the ministry and their enthusiasm for the collaborative partnership between the two parties.
