National Program Requirements for the Management and Treatment of Radioactive Waste

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has adopted the requirements of the National Program for the Management and Treatment of Radioactive Waste resulting from the production of oil and gas “NORM” with the aim of managing and treating these wastes safely.

The Radiation Control Department has issued licensing requirements for companies providing services in the treatment of “NORM” waste, including those offering decontamination services for equipment used in the oil and energy sector. This also applies to companies involved in exporting these materials outside the country, as well as training services related to the management and treatment of such substances.
