Qatar Participates in Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions Meeting
Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, is participating in the meeting of the parties to the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions, currently being held in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting is titled ‘Accelerating Action: Objectives of Sound Management of Chemicals and Waste’ and is taking place from May 1 to May 12, 2023.
The delegation of the Ministry is headed by Dr. Mohammed Al-Shammari, Director of the Hazardous Chemicals and Waste Management Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, along with the participation of Engineer Hussain Mohammed and Engineer Khalifa Al-Dagher.
The meeting discusses seeking solutions to address the impact of chemicals and hazardous waste on human health and the environment, involving all parties at the national, regional, and global levels.
