The Environmental Assessment and Permits Management Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has organized a number of training workshops aimed at enhancing the capabilities and skills of its human resources, thereby contributing to the improvement of services provided to visitors and ensuring the completion of services in record time.

The first training workshop, titled “Marine Dredging and Burial… Environmental Damage,” focused on raising awareness about the environmental impacts of marine dredging and burial activities. It covered the techniques used in these processes, their environmental consequences, and introduced methods for assessing the environmental impact of such operations. Additionally, the workshop presented management plans and programs for monitoring marine dredging and burial operations.

The second training workshop, titled “Environmental Impact Assessment Study – Strategic Environmental Assessment,” delved into the concepts of both studies in detail, outlining the mechanisms and requirements of each study. It also emphasized the importance and reasons for conducting both studies, in addition to presenting the laws, regulations, technical, and administrative requirements, and how to implement them.

The third workshop, conducted in collaboration with the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA), was titled “Environmental Assessment and Permitting Procedures for Water Wells in All its Forms.” It addressed the cooperation between the Environmental Permits Management Department and KAHRAMAA with the aim of preserving the state’s groundwater reserves and ensuring their sustainability.
