The Legal Affairs Department

The Legal Affairs Department handles the following responsibilities:

1- Research, study, and follow up on the legal matters related to the activities of the Ministry in coordination with the relevant administrative units.

2- Prepare projects for adopting legislative instruments and give professional and legal feedback on the draft laws referred to the Department.

3- Give legal advice on the issues referred.

4- Prepare draft contracts, agreements, and memorandum of understanding as fit the Ministry’s mandate in coordination with the relevant administrative units.

5- Investigate the incidents and violations involving Ministry employees and outline the findings of said investigations in adequate documents that includes legal opinion and recommendations, and submit those documents to the relevant authority. In this context, the Department is also responsible for following up on the implementation of any and all decisions made in light of those investigations.

6- Handle disputes and cases to which the Ministry is a party in coordination with the relevant agencies.
