Shaimaa Al Mutawa

A Qatari woman who works as a rescue and first aid trainer.

She is considered one of the most prominent women interested in the marine environment in Qatar; as she specializes in diving and swimming.
She is the fourth certified scuba diving instructor in Qatar, which is a type of diving through which a diver can breathe underwater using special equipment and requires lots of skills and training compared to freediving.

Shaimaa was trained by specialists in the field of pearls, to know pearls, the methods of their formation and diving to extract them from several marine places in the country.

Her most important environmental engagements

  • Landing industrial fish in Al Dukhan area.
  • Taking down, cleaning and re-establishing an industrial facility in Sealine area.
  • Cultivation of coral reefs in the countryside of Kafco in Sealine area.
  • Removal of heavy waste from the bottom of Sealine, such as: (bikes, iron parts and bulky waste).
